In-line Fuse Holder provided by MUYI Features excellent waterproof design with tight-fitting rubber cap, 10 AWG thick copper wire. These have been some areas we have troubles with for the 10 amp fuse blowing. We use cookies and similar tools that are necessary to enable you to make purchases, to enhance your shopping experiences, and to provide our services, as detailed in our Cookie Notice. MUYI Inline Fuse Holder with 40AMP ATC Fuses, 100 brand new & high quality. IDM wiring chaffing againts ecm and idm corners, air compressor discharge line, Bracket at rear of ecm/idm assembly, or trans tube. Have 50 VT365 06 IC CE in my area's fleet as of right now have 10 down with bad IDM's. Have found burnt wire and 3 different plugs is the IDM power harness between battery and relay but that usaly throws a IDM power code. The 40 amp IDM fuse in the battery box is main IDM power that is controled by relay. I would replace the IDM relay should be about 6" from that fuse. The 10 amp IDM fuse is in between the key switch and the IDM power relay. Lead, Follow or get out of the way! Thomas Paine I called International Engine help line and spoke to a "pro" who said it is not that uncommon to have an IDM failure that would cause this kind of issue. just a cool $1500.00 give or take to replace it. The cause was an internal short to the IDM. Will start looking for chaffed wires soon.ĭont know what year engine you are working on but I have seen a 10 amp fuse blow continually on a 2004 466EGR IDM Logic Power circuit. It is labeled IDM, I did check the battery box fuse (40 Amp) connector looks good, still have to check part number on harness. It actually feeds three different things on the engine. If it is, it is more complicated than the wiring diagram suggests. Are you sure it's not the fuse that feeds the IPR? That sounds more like what you are describing. Is this IDM fuse in the battery box? If so, it should be a 40 amp fuse. PS I read the current posts about injector failures, but saw no mention of the IDM fuse problem. The relay isolates the high amp load of the fan circuit. It uses our 40-Amp Electric Relay Kit and Electric Fan Sensor. The supplied diagram below using dual relays with a single temp sensor is both the most reliable and easiest method we've found for wiring dual fans. Where do I start, I plan on looking for chaffed wires and check for fuses and connections in the battery compartment, just don't want to guess at a fix and have to tow it home or have it dead on an interstate somewhere. Optionally, a single high-current relay could be used to control both fans. We were finally able to get bus back home using a 15 Amp fuse. IDM fuse has started failing, the original 10 Amp was replaced with a 15 amp it worked for a few days, then blew in the first 30 minutes of a two hour trip.
